It was a hot August early evening and I was bored silly. I decided to go hitch hiking for rides around town. Steve pulled up and said "Hey Paul lets go to a ghost house." I got in and sat beside a girl that was riding along with him. I noticed that she was cute and had her arm in a sling.
As we drove the car up the curves to the top of the mountain Steve said, "What yaw got good?" I said "Some reds, what you got?" Steve said "Good brown Colombo and some good pussy."
By the time we made it to the ghost house it was just after nightfall. We were stoned and laid. We got out of the car. It was a hazy night and we could see all right. The house was on a winding country road up in the mountain. It looked like one of those old civil war farmhouses. Its paint had weathered off and its windows were boarded up with old planks. The grass was about two feet tall. There was some standing water with large Oaks and Maples and Poplars around.
A truck pulled up and the guy started talking to us. He said, "That house is haunted and we better stay away. A girl was shot up here today. There's no trespassing here. You kids had better get". As he drove off Steve said,” That was us that got shot at and Terri caught some bird shot in her arm".
Well I started to go to the house I noticed a glow coming from the middle window on the second floor. The windows were boarded up and no power lines to the house. The glow reminded me of the glow from a TV. As I went up the steps to the covered porch the planks were squeaking. I opened the old wooden storm door. I got scared. I got cold. I got away. Something really spooked me. I saw the ghost. I saw the glow through a solid wood door. We piled in Steve's car and got the hell out of there.
The next day I had a big knot on my forehead. My Mom showed me an article in Sunday's paper about ghosts and haunted houses. In the paper there was a picture of that ghost house. My mom wanted to know how I got a knot on my forehead.
